On July 30, 1965, a Federal bill was signed into law that lead to the creation of the Medicare and Medicaid programs. The Medicaid program has come a long way since then, especially here in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. Join MMNY to mark this anniversary by posting to social media, calling Congress, and reminding our friends, colleagues and policymakers how important Medicaid is and the critical need to keep the program strong.
Community Catalyst has provided a toolkit to help us mark the anniversary. The toolkit includes a social media guide, a template letter-to-the-editor, and more. You can find links to the toolkit and its contents below.
While we have a long way to go to achieve the best possible Medicaid program for all who need it, we are fortunate to have a very strong program here in ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. With assistance from Make the Road ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Self-Determination Coalition, and the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Legal Assistance Group, MMNY published a set of stories to highlight what Medicaid has meant to five ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈers and their families. The stories are attached and are available on the MMNY website at
